Obituary of Amber May Black
Amber May Black was born on May 10, 1961, in Mt. Clemens, Michigan. She was one of four children, but the only daughter born to the union of Beverly Pool, Jr. and Arlene (Garcia) Pool. Amber attended Bedford High School in Temperance, Michigan.
On December 23, 1988, in Toledo, Ohio, Amber married the love of her life: Davy Black. The couple was blessed to raise three wonderful children: Chadrick, Lisa, and Mellissa. To help provide for her family, Amber worked several years at local nursing facilities before gaining employment with the Monroe County Mental Health Authority where she was employed for more than sixteen years as a caregiver.
Amber enjoyed shooting pool at the Village Pizzeria and playing card games such as euchre and poker. She liked playing backgammon, solving the word game Bookworm, and playing video games, especially Dr. Mario. She loved the gentle flutter of butterflies often referring to them as “flutterbies”. Amber loved the look and smell of carnations. She created amazing montages of photos that were displayed throughout her home. Always willing to put the needs of others ahead of her own, Amber cherished her children and grandchildren more than anything in this world.
