Obituary of Paulette Kathryn Emery
Paulette Kathryn Wood was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 28, 1948. One of eight children, she was the daughter of Roscoe Kemp Wood and Rosella (Fix) Wood. She attended Monroe High School.
Paulette married Jimmie Lee Emery on September 24, 1966, in LaSalle, Michigan. The couple were blessed with the birth of four children. For more than fifteen years she worked as a Manager for McDonalds.
Paulette was known to be loving and caring although she could also be ornery and stubborn. She was an excellent listener and kept a close eye on those around her. She had a smile that could warm any heart. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a fascination with the color purple and unicorns, often collecting items that matched these simple descriptions.
Paulette Kathryn Emery, age 75 of Monroe passed away at home unexpectedly on Friday; July 5, 2024. Her passing was preceded by her parents, her beloved husband: Jimmie on April 5, 2010, two daughters: Christie Palmer and Shirley Ann Emery; a son-in-law: Daniel Palmer; a great granddaughter: Izzabella McNair, and five brothers and sisters.
To cherish her memory, she leaves two children: Jimmie L. Emery, Jr. (Cheryl Willis) of Monroe and Tina Spencer of Monroe; a sister: Rita Larrow of Monroe; a brother: Fred (Ann) Wood of Monroe; seven grandchildren: Jimmie L. Emery III (Veronica), Robert Emery, Chanelle McNair (Tremayne), Paul Spencer Jr. (Danielle Stewart), Zachary Palmer, Logan Palmer, and Dakota Palmer; and eleven great grandchildren: Mia McNair, Luke Emery, Liberty McNair, Nataliyn McNair, Layla Spencer, Tremayne McNair, Jade Emery, Ellie Spencer, Aurora Spencer, Israel McNair, and Kade Emery.
A private family gathering, and prayer service were held, and Pastor Rick Massingill of the North Monroe Street Church of God officiated. Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185 has been entrusted with her care. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan, a division of Merkle Enterprises, Inc.
