James "Jim" Leon LeBlanc was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma on October 12, 1944. He was one of four children born from the late Leon and Anne (Balsevicz) LeBlanc. After graduating from Romulus High School, He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Juanita Knight, on September 11, 1965 in New Boston, Michigan. Together they raised their family in Romulus, eventually moving and making LaSalle their home.
Jim supported his family working in the Fleet Service for American Airlines for over forty-two years. He was a very loyal and hardworking man, always putting the needs of others in front of his own. He loved his wife and grandchildren, as family was most important. Jim treasured the time he spent with his loved ones, and was very proud of his children.
When there was free time, Jim was out on the lake in his boat fishing. He loved a good adventure, as he traveled all over the United States. Jim was quite the food coinsure, many times over having fish fry's and boiled dinners, making enough to feed his neighbors.
James "Jim" Leon LeBlanc, age 70, of LaSalle passed away at 4:12am, on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at home. He was preceded in death by his parents.
To cherish his memory he leaves his wife of 49 years, Juanita; two children: Lori (Bill) Goins and Amy (Jim) Stump both of Monroe; three sisters: Carol Spraga of Belleville, Pam (Glen) McClure, and Janice Kehn both of Romulus; five grandchildren: Zachary Goins, Hannah Goins, Claire Goins, Luke Stump, and Lily Stump.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm till 8:00pm on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 and Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe 14567 S. Dixie Highway (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 8, 2015, also at Merkle's with Pastor Roy Southerland of Monroe Missionary Baptist Church officiating.
