Obituary of Betty Louise Bomia

Please share a memory of Betty to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Betty Louise Harris was born on March 4, 1944, in Auburn, Indiana. She was one of seven children born to the union of James Thomas Harris and Mildred (Tuller) Harris.  Her father passed away when she was just a young girl, but the lessons he taught her played an important role throughout her life.  Betty attended Monroe High School, graduating with the class of 1962.

Betty married Jack Bomia on April 5, 1962, in Monroe, Michigan.  The couple was blessed with two sons: John and Rick.  Betty loved her family, and she cherished the years spent as a homemaker.  Likewise, she enjoyed being called “GiGi” and “Bingo” by her family.  Having the same first name, she developed a lifetime fondness of the cartoon character: Betty Boop.

Betty was an avid reader and challenged her mind with crossword puzzles.  She kept herself busy doing crafts and crocheting.  She remained active at the Stewart Road Church of God for many years, loving her Sunday school and Bible study classes.  She had a sweet tooth for all M and M’s candies although he favored the plain ones.

Betty Louise Bomia, age 80 of Enterprise, Kansas passed away peacefully at the Enterprise Estates Nursing Center on Wednesday; May 1, 2024.  Her passing was preceded by her parents: James and Mildred Harris; her husband: Jack; her granddaughter: Heather; a brother: James Harris; and a sister and brother-in-law: Caroline and Ronald Ciuray.

To cherish Betty’s memory she leaves two sons: John (Bobby)Bomia and Rick (Deborah) Bomia both of Kansas; three sisters: Marilyn (James) Price of Ida, Barbara (Frank) Draganic of Tennessee, and Patricia Wilson of Michigan; a brother: Charles “Chuck” (Juanita) Harris of Florida; six grandchildren: Meagan, Amanda, Chelsea, Sierra, Emerald, and Calvin; eleven great grandchildren with one on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
