Obituary of James Allen Thompson
James Allen Thompson was born on New Year’s Eve, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan to James Albert and Verna Pearl (Sullivan) Thompson. He enjoyed fishing and loved his chickens and spending time with his family. James could often be found on weekdays eating lunch and visiting his Maysville Frisch’s family.
James Allen Thompson, age 58, of Wallingford, Kentucky, formerly of Dundee, Michigan, passed away on Friday; May 3, 2024 at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville, Kentucky. His passing was preceded by his parents; three brothers: Lonnie Thompson, William “Everett” Thompson, and Ernest Thompson; and two sisters: Aline Wegner and Denise Allen.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife of thirty-five years: Joyce Marie (Jewell) Thompson of Wallingford; three sisters: Jeanette Burnham and Bessie Baggett, both of Maybee, Michigan and Yvonne (Richard) Abbott of Detroit, Michigan; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Friends may gather on Thursday; May 9, 2024, from 10:00am until 12:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156. A Celebration of James’s Life will begin at 12:00pm also at Merkle’s followed by a procession to Maple Grove Cemetery in Dundee for interment.
