Obituary of Shari Ann Bowman

Please share a memory of Shari to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Shari Ann Wise was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 9, 1960. She was one of two children born from the union of Otho C. and Darlene (LeClear) Wise. She obtained her education, graduating with the Class of 1978 from Adlai E. Stevenson High School.

Inspired by the 1976 Olympics Era, Shari pursued figure skating during her early to late teen years.  She honed her skills in Canton to emulate those of the Olympic skaters.

Shari fed her spiritual appetite by attending services regularly at the Van Born Baptist Church. Later in life, she became a friendly and familiar face to those looking for a caffeine fix and a sweet treat every morning while she was employed at the Tasty Boy Donut Shop in Flat Rock.

Shari was a devoted fan of the University of Michigan and the Detroit Lions football teams. She truly enjoyed their every win, and on the contrary was thoroughly disappointed when they lost. She found joy in classic rock music, with a particular fondness for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.  Shari often traveled to attend their concerts and on occasion, attended alongside her brother and his wife.

In recent years, Shari found pleasure in watching HGTV's fixer-upper shows, and mystery shows on the Hallmark Channel along with the Christmas Movies during the holiday season. Shari had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs. She received her first dog, Hildi, who was an AKC kennel certified miniature schnauzer, which she and her brother named.  As she grew older, Shari shared her home with a German Shepherd named Punk, a spirited companion, who truly lived up to his name.

Additionally, Shari had a passion for classic cars, attending various classic car shows, an interest she inherited from her father. She was described by her brother as contagiously contrary at times, highlighting her independent spirit and strong personality.
