Ronald Keith Corie was born on January 28, 1948, in Hammond, Indiana to Doris (Sappingfield) and Vernon K. Corie. He graduated from high school in Indiana and from Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Michigan.

Ron enlisted in the United States Marine Corp and spent his tour in Vietnam where he was a jet airplane mechanic. After leaving the service he moved to Dearborn, Michigan and had two children, Cynthia (Gary LaClair) and Jeffrey (Bridget) Corie. In 1979, he married his best friend Linda (McLin) Davis and gained a bonus daughter, Sara (Steve Ball) Schiappacasse.

Ron and Linda spent most of their married life in Ogden Center, Michigan, where they hosted many family gatherings. His grandchildren have many memories of riding around in the golf cart or being pulled behind the riding mower by their “Poppy”. Ron went to work for General Motors after the service and retired at the age of fifty-five. He was able to enjoy fifteen years in his “Garagemahall” before becoming ill and moving to Dundee, Michigan.

Ronald K. Corie, age 75, of Dundee, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday; September 26, 2023. His passing was preceded by his father and stepmother: Vernon and Ann Corie; his father and mother in-law: Jim and Connie McLin; and his stepfather: Ed. Ron has shed his Earthly bonds and is at peace enjoying Vernon, Ann, Jim, and Connie.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife: Linda Corie; three children; his mother; his brother: Dan; his sister: Loretta (Robert) Collins; and his sisters-in-law: Keitha (Edward) Stutzman and Lisa (Dan) McClain. Also surviving are his six dear grandchildren: Caitlynn (Kelly) Milione, Jacob (Ashlyn) Corie, Lauren (Tanner) Burkett, Nicholas Schiappacasse, Briggs Corie, and Grayson Corie; and one great grandchild: Oaklynn Corie.

Per Ron’s wishes there will be no public service. His care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation, of Erie, Michigan.
