Rodger Alan Poore was born on March 10, 2023, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of eight children born to the union of Clarence Willard and Ivy May (Coote) Poore. Rodger attended Jefferson High School in Monroe, Michigan, graduating with the class of 1967. After his graduation from high school Rodger furthered his education at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan receiving his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. Rodger enlisted in the United States Air Force where he honorably served his country.

On August 4, 1976, while stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, Rodger married the love of his life, the former: Judy Cole. Together the couple would be blessed to raise four children. Rodger and Judy had two homes; one in Dundee, Michigan and the other in Maybee, the family farmhouse he and Judy were restoring.  Rodger and Judy loved living the farm life. Rodger not only provided for his family by working as a Med Tech at the VA Hospital for over thirty-three years but also by running the family farm where he and Judy raised pigs, cows, turkeys, goats, sheep, and geese.  Rodger loved his garden, whether he was tending to his flowers, growing vegetables, especially his favorite tomatoes or harvesting from one of his many peach, apple, and pear trees. Rodger loved to cook and often made plentiful meals that were provided from his farm and garden. Anyone that was fortunate to divulge in one of Rodger’s home cooked meals never left hungry.

Rodger Alan Poore, age 74 of Dundee and Maybee, Michigan passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife: Judy by his side and under the care of the Elara Hospice.  His passing was preceded by his parents: Clarence and Ivy May Poore and his son: Gregory Poore.
