Obituary of Christie Palmer
Christie Emery was born on April 29, 1976, in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of four children born from the union of Jimmie Emery and Paulette (Wood) Emery, Sr. Christie met and married the love of her life, Daniel Palmer. The happy couple would be blessed with the birth of three children.
Christie was a natural born crafter. Simply by applying paint, she could turn a plain glass jar into a work of art. She created beautiful necklaces and bracelets using beads and stretchy string. Her gifts certainly made her the envy of all her friends and family.
Christie could often be found tuning in to her favorite shows: “The First 48”, “Forensic Files”, and “Dateline”. Putting on her detective cap, Christie always tried to solve the “whodunnit” before the episode ended.
As someone who wore her heart on her sleeve, Christie cared deeply about those around her. She continually showed a particular interest in how they felt and how they were doing. She truly cherished the love and company of her four-legged companions, currently feline, but previously had a chihuahua named Annabelle who by far was her favorite.
In her free time, Christie enjoyed collecting bears, proudly displaying them throughout her home. She was not picky on the type; whether it be a stuffed bear or a ceramic figurine, she preferred to just have them all to add to her collection.
Christie Palmer, age 46, of Luna Pier, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday; February 3, 2023. Her passing was preceded by her beloved husband: Daniel Palmer; her father: Jimmie Emery, Sr., a sister: Shirley Emery; a stepson: Ian Palmer; and one nephew: Bentley Emery.
To cherish her memory, she leaves twin sons: Zachary and Logan Plamer; a daughter: Dakota; her mother: Paulette Emery; a sister: Tina Spencer; and one brother: Jimmie Emery, Jr.
Friends may gather on Thursday; February 9, 2023, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life, led by Pastor Roy Southerland, will take place at 6:00pm, also at Merkle’s. Cremation will follow through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
