Obituary of David John Ellison "DJ"
David John Ellison “DJ” was born on September 6, 1988, one of three children born to the union of David Lee Ellison Jr and the former Jean Ann DeSloover. DJ was a graduate of Fenton High School with the Class of 2007.
As a teenager, DJ dabbled in playing the guitar but found his true passion in playing video games. He thoroughly loved playing games online, especially with his father and closest friends. Second to his love of playing video games was the love for his feline companion, Tyty, who was always there as comfort.
He was employed as a Stocker with the Marathon Corporation. DJ enjoyed his work and wasn’t shy to share with everyone his love for his job. You could always find DJ cooking and trying out new recipes with his brother Randall.
David John Ellison “DJ” age 34, of Monroe went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday; January 31, 2023. At his passing he shared the gift of life with others by being an organ donor through Community Tissue Services of Ohio. His passing was preceded by his maternal grandparents: Joe and Mary DeSloover and his paternal grandmother: Susan Ellison.
To cherish his memory, he leaves his father and stepmother: David and Michelle Ellison; his mother: Jean Ellison; a sister: Justine Ellison; a brother: Randall Ellison; paternal grandfather: David Lee Ellison, Sr, as well as many loving uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday; February 2, 2023, and from 11:00am until 12:00pm on Friday; February 3, 2023, at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of His Life will take place on Friday at 12:00pm also at Merkle’s with Trevor Ellison officiating.
