Obituary of Eddie Evans

Eddie Evans was born on April 26, 1957, in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of six children born to the union of Carson B and Shirley (Shackelford) Evans. Eddie attended Monroe High School.

 

Eddie retired in 2022 after being employed by Yanfeng Automotive in Monroe for fifteen years.   He was a member of the Monroe chapter of ABATE of Michigan.   His favorite pastime by far was riding his 1976 Harley Davidson Superglide motorcycle.  In the late 1980’s, Eddie had ridden this same bike from California to Michigan which he still owned. He enjoyed being outdoors from fishing in Lake Erie for whatever was biting to hunting deer throughout Monroe, Chelsea, Jackson, and Carleton, Michigan. He spent many weekends operating his boat on Lake Erie.  Eddie considered himself to be a blessed man having numerous nieces and nephews.   He always made time for them and cherished the memories they made together.

 

Eddie Evans, age 65 of Frenchtown Township, Michigan passed away at his home unexpectedly on Tuesday; January 17, 2023.  His passing was preceded by his parents:  Carson B. Evans and Shirley J. Freiberg and his older brother:  Michael Boyd Evans.

 

To cherish Eddie’s memory, he leaves two brothers:  Danny Joe Evans of Glennie, Michigan and Larry (Barbara A) Evans of Monroe; and two sisters:  Sharon Kay (Andre) Laurain of Oscoda, Michigan and Karen Elaine Spears of Monroe; a sister in law:  Cheryl Lynn Evans of Temperance, Michigan; and his special nieces and nephews:  Juston, Danny, Misty, Kristy, Jamie, Tara, Ashley, Cory, Alicia, Alyssa and Amber.

Private family services will be held at later date. Eddie’s care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. Cremation has taken place through the on-site crematory, Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
