Obituary of Irma Seal

Irma Lee Woods was born in Monroe, Michigan on July 8, 1930. She was one of four daughters born of the late Albert L. and Mae Eva (Raines) Woods. Irma spent most of her young life in Monroe before settling in Trenton in 1959. Irma married the love of her life, Robert E. Seal on Friday, February 13, 1947 in Monroe and from this union came the birth of six children. Irma was employed with Riverside Hospital for several years and later employed with West Grange Pharmacy until taking retirement in 1992. Irma was a very devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, giving them all she could by loving and cherishing them. She also loved to spend time in a cabin she and her husband owned up north. It was known as her sanctuary in her younger years. Irma enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. in her motorhome with her loving husband. Irma received her spiritual nourishment from the Riverview Church of God, but most recently the North Monroe Street Church of God. She was a devout member who loved to give to her ministries whenever she could. Irma Lee Seal, age 84, of Trenton passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Oakwood Hospital - South Shore in Trenton, surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her parents, her passing was preceded by two sisters: Phyllis Goda and Edna Lewis; and a grandson: Larry Seal Jr. To cherish her memory she leaves her loving husband of 67 years, Robert " Bob" Seal; her six children: Robert (Kathy) Seal of Macomb Township, Larry (Jan) Seal of Woodhaven, Christina (Howard) Lasser of West Bloomfield, Jeffery (Margie) Seal of Trenton, Gregory Seal of California and Carol Ann (Bill) Vloch of Carleton; a sister: Betty (Kenneth) Trowbridge of Monroe; two brother- in-laws: Wayne Goda and Cecil Lewis both of Monroe; nineteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. Friends may gather from 2:00pm until 8:00pm on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Her Life will follow at 11:00am on Friday October 31, 2014 also at Merkle's with Reverend Cecil Lewis officiating. Procession will follow to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial. Memorial donations are suggested to Jimmy Swaggert's Ministry in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
