Kory Lee Goss was born on November 30, 1962 in Trenton, Michigan.   He was the son of Nuel Edward Goss and Loreida Ersie (Lawson) Goss.   He graduated from Monroe High School and continued his studies at Monroe County Community College where he studied auto mechanics.

He married the former, Tammie Marie Goble on October 18, 1997.   Kory was a hard worker, never afraid to get his hands dirty.   Out of high school he worked for General Motors later spending time in Maybee as an auto mechanic.   Kory was employed by the Ann Arbor Laborers Local 499.   For more than twenty-five years, he worked construction was through the Carpenters Local 687 before his retirement in 2017.   As a carpenter he was proud to help “build Monroe”, from Cobo Hall, to working on Fermi, the credit union, Rite Aid, The Frenchtown Square Mall, and even Cabela’s in Dundee.

Kory was extremely generous.   He was always willing to give of himself to others.   He knew no limits even to the point of being taken advantage of often, Kory never said no.  Kory loved to spend time on the open road and his favorite mode of travel was by motorcycle.   Often, he could be seen on his travels with his pooch, Louis riding with him.   Kory enjoyed being outside working in the yard or spending time, in a blind bow hunting.  He helped the neighbor kids by providing or repairing a bike or pumping up a tire.

Even after retirement he used his skills helping the United Way through Project Ramp.   Kory donated to Children with Hair Loss in Rockwood on more than one occasion.   Being an avid NASCAR and Tony Stewart fan, he kept the home decorated in orange for quite some time.

Kory Lee Goss, age 60, of Monroe passed away at Beaumont Hospital Trenton on Saturday; December 3, 2022, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on November 28 in Frenchtown Township.   Upon his passing Kory gave the Gift of Life to others through tissue and organ donation and following his celebration of life his hair will be donated.   His passing was preceded by his parents; two sisters:  Vicella Pefferly and Sherry Farris; two nieces:  Shelly Farris and Marsha Sharp; and adopted son:  Mason Lee Hammac.

To cherish his memory he leaves his beloved wife of twenty-five years:  Tammie Marie Goss; three children:  Kory Edward (Jessie Lee) Goss of Okinawa, Japan, Tristan Jacob Edward Goss of Monroe, and Krystal Anne Marie Goss (Christopher Hickman) of Newport; a brother:  James Robert (Connie) Goss of Arizona; two grandchildren: Sena Gabriel and Samson Edward Goss; his close friend: Jeanne Timmins of Monroe; an aunt:  Gwen Bandy of Florida; numerous nieces and nephews; and Devin DeBerry whom he worked with and Kory thought of as a son.  He also leaves his two four-legged companions, Sophie and Louis who were certainly loved as much as the kids and were spoiled, eating better than all of them.
