Obituary of Wendy Jane Buckner

Please share a memory of Wendy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Wendy Jane Buckner was born on September 30, 1975 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of five children born to the union of Lessley Manuel and Loretta Jane (Braden) Ellison. Wendy attended Dundee High School in Dundee, Michigan.

On February 7, 2020 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Taylor, Wendy married David Buckner.  Wendy enjoyed country music with Dolly Parton being her all time favorite performer.   Each time Wendy’s favorite song “Jolene” came on the radio she would turn the volume up loud.  Wendy loved spending time with her best friend Janel Szabo. The pair filled their time often by shopping for anything at any store.  Wendy had many “favorites” in her life from monster trucks, to fishing, from country music, to anything Halloween especially the movie “Hocus Pocus”.   She was very talented when it came to crafts and enjoyed jewelry making and sewing.   Wendy’s true passion in life was the love she shared with her four children and three grandchildren.

Wendy Jane Buckner, age 47, passed away after an extended illness on Saturday; October 29, 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Her passing was preceded by her infant son:  Angel Vanderbush; her mother:   Loretta Ellison and her second husband:  Drew Vanderbush.

To cherish her memory she leaves a loving husband:  David Buckner of Detroit, Michigan; two daughters:  Kimberly Legg and Ava Vanderbush, both of Carleton, Michigan; two sons:  Gabriel and Caleb Vanderbush, also of Carleton; step-children: David and Mia; one sister: Angela Mae (Dino) Sambiagio of Dundee, Michigan; three brothers:  Steve Ellison and Tim Ellison, both of Monroe, and Greg Ellison of Carleton; and her three loving grandchildren:  Skylar, Avery and Reese; and beloved friends: Tracey Fae, Rosie, Sandy and Diane King.
