Guenter Hermann Roeder April 23, 1944 - October 14, 2014 Guenter Hermann Roeder was born on April 23, 1944 in Fulda-Hessen, Germany. He was the only child born from the union of the late Hermann Karl Roeder and the late Dorthea Louise (Boos) Roeder. Guenter married the love of his life, the former Annmarie Helga Raisle, on April 4, 1968 in Hanau, Germany. The couple moved their family to North America in 1973 making their home in Canada. They would later move to Bloomfield Hills in 1991 before settling in Port Huron in 2004. Guenter had a passion for cars and worked in the automotive industry until his retirement. He owned a service station in Germany, raced cars, worked many years at various dealerships as a service manager and became very fond of the BMW. He served in the Germany Navy for six years. Guenter was proud of his family, and worked hard to achieve the American Dream. Guenter Hermann Roeder, age 70 of Fort Gratiot, passed away peacefully at the Medilodge of Port Huron on Tuesday, October 14, 2014. In addition to his parents, and a step-daughter: Beatrice Plefka, his passing was preceded by his wife of forty-six years, Annemarie. Guenter devoted the last eight years of his life to be her caregiver and sadly, she passed on September 18, 2014. To cherish his memory, Guenter leaves one son: Matthias (Kathleen) Roeder of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; one daughter: Corina (John) Mignano of Monroe; six grandchildren: William and Robert Roeder of Windsor and Sven Wollschlaeger, Enzo, Iana, and Jaxx Mignano all of Monroe. Guenter's care has been entrusted to Merkle Funeral Service, 2442 North Monroe Street (734)384-5185. A private memorial service is being planned and his final rest will be at Pine Lake Cemetery in West Bloomfield, Michigan. Memorial donations are suggested to Blue Water Hospice of Port Huron.
