Obituary of Ardeana Marie Roberts

Please share a memory of Ardeana to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Ardeana Marie Holmes was born in Detroit, Michigan on April 29, 1929. She was the eldest child born to Robert and Olive (Hilts) Holmes. Ardeana eventually became a mother to four children of her own, and she worked in the family-owned businesses while caring for her family.

Ardeana was blessed with a beautiful voice and sang Soprano in several choirs throughout her life. Deeply spiritual, Ardeana enjoyed learning about the metaphysical world and studied the life of turn of the century clairvoyant, Edgar Cayce.

Ardeana was a longtime member of the Midwest Mineralogical and Lapidary Society. She participated in rock and gem shows, where she swapped rocks from her collection. A talented crafter, Ardeana was often adorned in jewelry she wire-wrapped herself. She was also proud of the unique miniature trees she crafted by wire-wrapping geodes and gems. Ardeana designed and painted beautiful nature scenes on fine china, often gifting her creations. Fiercely independent, Ardeana maintained her home until the age of ninety-three.
