Obituary of Judy Christine Pederson

Please share a memory of Judy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judy Christine Tuttle was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on May 18, 1946.   She was the third eldest of six children born from the union of Sherman Woodrow Tuttle and Nancy Elizabeth (Abston) Tuttle.   She was a 1964 graduate of Monroe High School later furthering her education by taking college courses.

Judy was blessed with the birth of six daughters whom she lovingly referred to as “her girls”.  She married the love of her life, Roger Vernon Pederson, in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 19, 1986.   The couple had met while working at Northern Telecom in Minnetonka, Minnesota where Judy was employed in Quality Control for fourteen years.   She was a Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star of Lorraine Chapter 112 in Minnesota.

They moved to New Jersey for several years for Roger’s work at Ford Motor Company before moving to Michigan and settling in Tecumseh in 2002.   They were active members of Solid Rock Church in Clinton.   Judy was very crafty and took a position with Joann Fabrics and later Michaels Frame Shop.  She enjoyed teaching the craft corners.   She loved completing pop up ceramics, painting ceramic and wooden crafts, and enjoyed scrapbooking.   She enjoyed bringing things to life with her artistic ability.

Judy always put the needs of her family first.   She loved her children implicitly.   She was a wonderful sounding board to those around her and was available any time for a phone call.   Judy also stayed active in the lives of her grandchildren.   She was a great cheerleader, attending all the field trips, and was a Girl Scout Leader.   She was an excellent host making sure parties were successful and festive.   Judy loved to bake for any occasion, owning some 300 cake pans, she had even provided goodies for the Detroit Tigers and Lions.

For many years, she and Roger enjoyed traveling to Hawaii, Ontario, Florida, the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, three cruises, Tennessee, South Carolina, Las Vegas and California to name a few.   On one of the cross-country road trip she even met the Pioneer Woman and Marlboro Man.   She was known to pack the best road trip snacks.   She enjoyed fishing although she preferred the stability of the shore over a boat any day.   Judy loved music and could often be found singing and dancing along to the beat.   She enjoyed watching her favorite shows Monk, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and Fraser.

Judy Christine Pederson, age 76, of Tecumseh passed away at 1234am on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti.   Her passing was preceded by her parents; twin sisters:  Edith Faye and Willie May; and a sister:  Joyce Ward.

To cherish her memory she leaves her beloved husband of more than thirty-five years:  Roger of Tecumseh; six daughters:  Tamie (Steve) Smith of Temperance, Kelly (George "Jr.") Durham of Milan, Wendy (Jim) Duke of Phoenix, Arizona, Daetha (Stephen) Hoffman of Tecumseh, Alycia (Larry) Spreeman of Tecumseh, and Aarika Pederson of York, South Carolina; two brothers:  James (Jean) Tuttle of Tecumseh and Jeff (Michelle) Tuttle of Monroe; twenty-three grandchildren:  Christine (Jimmy) Lamp, Eddie Mercer, Caressa (Jeffrey) Stinard, Catlyn (Greg) Williams, Careena (Jake) Healey, Courtney Hall, Megan Durham, Stephanie Durham (Cody Harat), Amanda Duke, Robert Duke, William Duke (Hannah), Michael Duke, Dominique Hoffman, Quincy Townsend, Samantha Hoffman, Brandon (Andrea) Hoffman, Piper Hoffman, Aaryanna, Aaydan, Austyn, Arik, Adaline, Ansel, and Avonlea Spreeman with an additional one on the way.
