Whenever I needed a shoulder to lean or a hand to hold in times of need I just reached out and Jim was there. He was my brother-in-law for close to fifty years. There was never a more kind, generous and loving man than he was. My heart is truly broken over his loss. Just an example of his love and giving nature was back in 1993; he and my sister had visited my husband and myself when we lived in Mississippi and in preparing to leave to return home had convinced me to come with them for a visit. They kindly prepared a bedroom for me that had a window next to a neighbor with a barking dog. Being a light sleeper I woke up my sister to tell her I couldn't sleep. Jim, in all of his love, kindness and sweetness got up around 2:00 in the morning and went next door to ask his neighbor to quieten his dog because his sister-in-law couldn't sleep. This is just one example of Jim's love for his family. As long as I live I will miss this marvelous man. His passing has left a hole in my heart that can never be filled. Love for eternity, Helen

I met Jim when I was 12 years old in November of 1972, on one of the darkest days of my life at my fathers funeral. I will never forget that big handsome guy in his army uniform nor will I ever forget his smile and kind words he had for me that day. Over the next 50 years anytime I saw Jim he had that smile and always kind uplifting words.Thank you for that and thank you for loving and taking care of my sister, my niece and nephew, thank you serving your county when so many others ran, thank you for letting me live with you and for helping my mother, thank you for riding the back roads of Alabama with me and thank you for being a man that I could look up to. Ride in peace brother-in-law.

What a memorable motorcycle trip we siblings had to the U.P. This is the Jim I'll remember. In the wind with a smile. Love you brother
