Obituary of Sandra Elizabeth Salliotte

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sandra Elizabeth Miller was born on April 23, 1944, in Wyandotte, Michigan. She was one of four children born to William and Elizabeth (Minnick) Miller. Sandy spent her childhood in Lincoln Park, Michigan and graduated from Lincoln Park High School. On May 13, 1965, she was joined in marriage to David R. Salliotte in Wyandotte, Michigan. The couple were blessed with two sons and a daughter and together would celebrate fifty-seven years marriage.

A very active mother and grandmother, Sandy dedicated her life to caring for her family. She never missed sporting events or other activities as her children and grandchildren were growing up. She also deeply valued her friendships and regularly found time for bowling, bingo, and bunco with her friends.

Both Sandy and her husband enjoyed trying their luck at the casinos. After David’s retirement the pair became “snowbirds” and spent seventeen winters in Florida. Sandy loved playing shuffleboard and was involved in all the activities and dinners at the club house. Due to her health, they spent the last two winters back home in Michigan where Sandy enjoyed bird watching and the beauty of snow-covered fields and trees which she referred to as “God’s Work”.

Sandra Elizabeth Salliotte, age 78, of Newport, Michigan passed away at home on Monday, May 16, 2022.
