Obituary of Tina Marie Butler
Tina Marie Butler was born on December 3, 1958, in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of two children born from the union of James Howard and Priscilla (Treadway) Runles. Tina attended Monroe High School in Monroe, Michigan.
On March 8, 1981, in Petersburg, Michigan, Tina married the love of her life, Leslie H. Butler, Jr. She was blessed with five children and her life revolved around them. For many years, she worked as a department manager at Walmart before having to take a medical retirement.
Tina loved to garden and could be seen outdoors attending to her flowers and vegetables. She liked playing online games, but bingo was most certainly her favorite, as she often visited the Oddfellows to play. Tina was a true animal lover, very fond of her cats and parakeets and could spend hours watching the birds eat from her bird feeders.
Tina Marie Butler, age 63, of Monroe, Michigan passed away unexpectedly on Sunday; April 24, 2022, at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital. Her passing was preceded by her father: James H. Runles and her brother: Jimmy Runles.
To cherish her memory Tina leaves behind her loving husband of forty-one years: Leslie H. Butler, Jr; three daughters: Shawna (Gabe) Martz of Tennessee, Toby Smith of Ohio, and Mary Maddux of Monroe; two sons: Timothy Runles and Leslie H. Butler III, both of Monroe; her mother: Priscilla Runles; sixteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and numerous other family members.
Friends may gather from 3:00pm until 6:00pm on Saturday April 30, 2022, at Merkle Funeral Service, North Monroe; 2442 North Monroe Street, Monroe, Michigan 48162 (734) 384-5185. A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00pm also at Merkles with Pastor Roy Southerland, officiating. Cremation has taken place through Covenant Cremation of Erie, Michigan.
