Paula Vigliotti

Obituary of Paula Diane Vigliotti

Please share a memory of Paula to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Paula Diane Godich was born in Detroit, Michigan on February 26, 1939.   She was the only child born from the union of Michael Godich and Anna (Kachur) Godich.   In the early 1940’s, Paula moved to the Detroit Beach area.   She graduated with the Class of 1956 from Monroe High School.

Paula married the love of her life, Richard James Robert Vigliotti, on July 26, 1958 at St. Joseph Church in Ida.   They would make their home in Maybee until moving to Dundee in 1998.   She was a homemaker and lovingly cared for the needs of her husband and four children.   Paula had an extreme eye for detail, and could be categorized as a neat freak, always keeping an immaculate home.

She truly enjoyed family and friends.   A simple person Paula enjoyed conversation with others.   Not one to travel she preferred to be a homebody, and so her favorite way to communicate was by talking on the phone.

Being an avid reader, Paula, was very intelligent.   She especially enjoyed increasing her knowledge on the subjects of medicine and religion.   Paula was very spiritual.   She spent her free time tuned into EWTN and TBN, although she did love the Hallmark Channel as well.

Paula Diane Vigliotti, age 82, of Dundee passed away at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti on Saturday; January 29, 2022.  Her passing was preceded by her parents.   The family is comforted in knowing that when she went home to heaven she was going to get her “log cabin in the pines”.

To cherish her memory she leaves her beloved husband of sixty-three years:  Richard James Robert Vigliotti of Dundee; two daughters:  Angela (Daniel) Motylynski and Stephanie Mahon both of Dundee; two sons:  Michael (Kris) Vigliotti of Lady Lake, Florida and Randy Vigliotti of Deerfield; eight grandchildren:  Joshua (Jennifer) Motylisnki, Ryan Motylinski, Rachel (Matthew) Meyer, Nicholas (Lacey) Mahon, Zachary Vigliotti (Marissa Elam), Jacob Vigliotti (Jayla Reineke), Anthony Vigliotti, and Dominic Vigliotti; and ten great grandchildren:  Alec Muir, Olivia Meyer, Francine Meyer, Landon Meyer, Ryan Elizabeth Motyliski, Wyatt Motylinski, Sage Mahon, Ashton Mahon, Mason Mahon, Karlie Mahon, and one on the way.

A private gathering was held at Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156.   She laid in state at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 4605 St. Anthony Road, Temperance, Michigan 48182 where the Mass of the Resurrection took place led by Father Robert Slaton pastor of the church.   Procession followed to Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle for burial.
