Clyde Leo Sweat, Jr. affectionately known to many as Leo was born on February 3, 1974, in Monroe, Michigan. He was the son of Clyde Leo and Pamela Jane (Cooley) Sweat, Sr.  Leo attended Monroe High School in Monroe, Michigan graduating with the class of 1992.

For the past nine years, Leo, was employed as a forklift driver at Howard Ternes Packaging Company in Monroe, Michigan.   He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

Leo was the ultimate sports fan loving all sports, but the University of Michigan Football team was his favorite to watch.   He also loved the Detroit Red Wings and the Detroit Lions.   He enjoyed multiple water sports although riding his wave runner was what he did the most.   Leo collected sports memorabilia and sports trading cards.   He loved to cook and often provided deep fried turkeys for Thanksgiving dinner, but he was best known for his barbecue chicken.   Leo used his own special seasoning and his own homemade barbecue sauce.   Lucky diners often commented “the chicken would melt in your mouth”.   Leo loved people and just hanging out with family and friends.   For those who knew Leo best, he was described as a wonderful, giving, and big-hearted person.   At times his heart seemed to be as big as his hometown, Monroe.
