Obituary of Ruth Ann Bunch
Ruth Ann Cupp was born on May 22, 1935, in New Tazewell, Tennessee. She was one of nine children born to Sherman and Hattie (Treece) Cupp. Ruth attended grammar school at Cup Ridge School, a one room schoolhouse. On January 17, 1950, she wed Finley Bunch in New Tazewell. They enjoyed sixty-four years of marriage and were blessed with two children.
Ruth was employed at General Motors as a parts sorter for eight years but made it her life’s work to care for her home and family. Never one to stay idle, she kept busy attending to the needs of her daughter alongside her husband. In her golden years, Ruth enjoyed trying her luck on the slots at the casino or playing bingo. She frequently tuned in to the Game Show Network. More than anything else she treasured spending time with family including her grandchildren and her sister.
Ruth Ann Bunch, age 86, of Monroe, Michigan passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 1, 2022. Her passing was preceded by her parents; husband: Finley Bunch in 2014; infant son: Ronald Dale Bunch; one brother; five sisters; and a son in-law: Fred Skeen.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her daughter: Deloris Skeen; grandchildren: Freddy (Misty) Skeen, Scott (Tasha) Skeen, and Tammy (Michael) Evans; great grandchildren: Josh, Aaron, Destiny, Samantha, Ayden, Brennan, Meghan, Morgan, and Madison; great great-grandsons: Knox and Reid; sisters: Lorene Dyer and Charlene Loop; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may gather on Saturday, January 8, 2022, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe, 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 241-7070. A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will follow at 1:00pm also at Merkle’s. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park in LaSalle, Michigan.
