Obituary of Mark Alan Brown

Mark Alan Brown was born in Monroe, Michigan on February 8, 1959.   Born from the union of Ralph Brown and Joyce (Kinne)Brown, he was the middle of three children to be raised on the Kinne Family Farm in LaSalle, Michigan.   He attended Monroe High School and graduated with the Class of 1977.  

After graduation Mark took a position with the Ford Motor Company.   He would work in several capacities during his thirty year career retiring as a Press Operator after thirty years at the age of 47 and a half.      

Mark was a hard worker, a wonderful husband, and an excellent provider.   He would marry the love of his life, the former, Polly S. Barlow on May 27, 1978 at St. Patrick Church in Carleton.   The couple would be blessed with three children of their own.  Throughout his life and even into retirement, Mark, spent countless hours assisting local farmers.  

In 1995, the family would purchase a Northern Michigan, family retreat near Gladwin.   Many wonderful memories were made at the property enjoying hunting and riding four wheelers.   For six years Mark and Polly made the cabin their home. He was very proud of his grandchildren  in November his fifteen year old granddaughter, Grace, shot her first deer, a seven point buck and this year grandson Avery made it to Nationals for trap shooting.  He had also loved boating and  camping  for many years in the Irish Hills area.

Mark Alan Brown, age 62, of LaSalle passed away at home on Thursday; December 2, 2021.   He had been under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice.   His passing was preceded by his parents.    

To cherish his memory he leaves a beloved wife of forty-three years:  Polly S. Brown of LaSalle; three children:  Scott (Jen) Brown of Dundee, Alan Brown of Monroe, and Amanda Brown of LaSalle; two brothers:  Paul Brown of Monroe County and Jeff Brown of Savanna, Georgia; two grandchildren:  Avery and Grace Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

No public services are planned.   His care has been trusted to Merkle Funeral Service, South Monroe; 14567 South Dixie Highway, Monroe, Michigan 48161 (734) 242-7070.   Cremation will take place through Covenant Cremation of Erie.   His final resting place will be at the family property in Northern Michigan.
