Obituary of Marcia K Toro

Please share a memory of Marcia to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marcia K. Stoddard was born in Monroe, Michigan on November 14, 1953.   She was the only daughter of three children born from the union of Herman Stoddard and Arlene (Scheick) Stoddard.   She attended St. Anne’s Grade School and graduated in 1971 from Jefferson High School.   She would continue her education at Mid-Michigan Community College.

Marcia married the love of his life the former, Daniel George “Irish Monro” Toro at the Monroe County Courthouse on October 10, 1975.   Their marriage was later blessed at the St. Athanacious Church in Harrison in 1985.   The couple would be blessed with the birth of one daughter.

Marcia was a natural born caregiver.  She was employed in the group home settings around Monroe for many years and after Dan’s health declined, she became his sole health care provider, as well.   The couple loved to travel and spend time together.   They enjoyed karaoke and each day Marcia would knit or crochet.   While living in Arizona she was very active at All Saints Parish, a Lady Knight, fundraising volunteer, member of the Sacred Heart of Mary, and the Holy Rosary Society.

Marcia was generous and kind, and she was a fixer, of course sometimes this put her smack dab in the middle of other people’s business.   She could be quite fun and it was said that work Marcia and home Marcia were two distinctly different people.

Marcia K. Toro, age 68, of Monroe passed away on Wednesday; November 24, 2021 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital.   Her passing was preceded by both of her parents; husband:  Daniel Toro in December of 2020; and a brother and sister-in-law:  Dennis and Susan Stoddard.
