Obituary of Nancy Jo Neun
Nancy Jo Searchfield was born on August 29, 1946 in Ames, Iowa. She would attend and graduate from Cody High School with the class of 1965. Nancy would marry the love of her life, Robert Neun, on April 16, 1966, in Detroit, Michigan. The couple would be blessed with the birth of three sons and would celebrate more than fifty-five years of marital bliss.
As water enthusiasts, Nancy and Bob, were active members of the Detroit Beach Boat Club for more than twenty years. Nancy would proudly become a lifetime auxiliary member. She was very active in the boat club and helping with its many activities, until poor health and a kidney transplant slowed her down.
Nancy treasured the time she could spend visiting Northern Michigan with her favorite area being at her mother-in-law’s home near Lupton. In her quiet time, Nancy, relished curling up to read a good book. She often escaped the troubles of the world diving into a juicy romance novel, quickly reading the pages from cover to cover. Quite often she would finish these thick books in one day.
As a young man, Bob, spent many hours at Toledo and Flat Rock Speedways racing the oval in pursuit of the win. He was always very humbled to have his biggest fan, Nancy, in attendance cheering him on day and night.
Nancy Jo Neun, age 74, of Monroe passed away at 1:25am on Monday; July 5, 2021 at her home. Her passing was preceded by her parents.
To cherish her memory, she leaves her beloved husband: Robert “Bob” Neun of Monroe; three sons: Jeff Neun, Doug (Hope) Neun, and Mike Neun; three grandchildren: Josie Neun, John Neun, and Valerie Neun.
