Obituary of Kathrena Creamer
Kathrena Elaine Creamer was born in Leonard, Michigan on October 12, 1965. She was one of three children, and only daughter, born from the union of Robert Creamer and Joyce (Sutherby) Creamer. After receiving her high school diploma, Kathy, as she preferred to be called, would continue her education by taking several college courses.
Kathy was blessed with a green thumb. She could make anything flourish and there was nothing she would not plant. She loved to garden, planting vegetables, plants, and even flowers. She also had the gift of patience using her talents to nurse vegetation on the brink of demise, back to life.
Kathy’s loved ones reaped many benefits not just in knowing her, but especially with her kindness. She often created beautiful, crocheted items which she in turn gifted. Many acquaintances were fortunate to receive blankets, hats, gloves, or ponchos, hand crafted with love by Kathy.
Eating together as a family was of the utmost importance to Kathy. She made sure she prepared a home cooked meal nightly for her children. Her meals were something you ate, or you would go without as she was not preparing more than one homecooked meal per night.
On occasion, Kathy would hunt for deer. She would not miss an opportunity to show off her sharpshooting skills, but she also wasn’t afraid to take one down with her car, if needed. She learned the essential tasks of how to gut, separate the meat, and clean a deer after it was defeated.
Kathy Creamer, age 55, of Newport, passed away at 11:58am on Friday; June 25, 2021. In addition to her own passing, she was preceded by her father: Robert Creamer; and her husband: Jeffery Earl Kurzhals.
To cherish her memory, she leaves four children: Heather (Keith) Deladurantaye, Dustin (Jessica) Williams, Shawn (Brooke) Williams, and Amanda (Daniel) Florance; her mother: Joyce (Leonard) Dersa; two brothers: Robert "Rob" Creamer and Andrew "Andy" Creamer; and five grandchildren: Melody, Harmony, Tearleanna, Chelsy, and Daniel.
