Michael DeMoss

Obituary of Michael Anthony DeMoss

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Michael Anthony DeMoss was born in Eloise, Michigan on September 1, 1971.   He was the son of Gail (Jedynak) DeMoss and at a young age he was adopted by his stepfather:  Thomas DeMoss.   In 1988 the family would make their home in Dundee, Michigan.

In many ways, Michael, was larger than life itself.   Standing at 6‘6” tall and strong as an ox he had the ability to carry three bundles of shingles up a forty-foot ladder without looking back.   His loud and booming voice easily announced his presence.   He didn’t mind taking charge of a situation and bossing others around, but he was probably best known for his fun-loving personality.

For many years, Michael, was employed by his father at DeMoss and Sons.   Michael loved to work from sun up to sun down.   He proudly labored in the grueling sun performing roofing, siding, and gutter work.

On February 13, 2013, Michael married Sheila Rae Leis.   The couple had a special bond and for several years owned and operated A and R Specialists.     Sheila would often tag along with Michael when he went out on service calls.   Michael and Sheila also spent countless hours working on renovations and improvements to her home.   After closing A and R, Michael went back to work with his father.

Michael loved fast cars.   He enjoyed cooking and was quite talented.   He and Sheila often argued over who was the better grill master.   Occasionally, Michael, slowed down enough so the duo could visit Sheila’s mother in Oscoda.

Michael Anthony DeMoss, age 49, of Monroe passed away on Friday; April 16, 2021 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.   His passing was preceded by his grandparents.

To cherish his memory, he leaves his beloved spouse:  Sheila Rae Leis of Monroe; his parents:  Thomas DeMoss and Gail (Jedynak) DeMoss; one son:  David Michael DeMoss of Summerfield Township; one daughter:  Gabbrielle DeMoss (Brandon Wienland) of Maumee, Ohio; one sister:  Amy (Adam) McDaniel; one brother:  Jacob DeMoss; two grandchildren:  Beckett Weinland and Gavin Weinland.
