Obituary of Carol Marie Bausman

Please share a memory of Carol to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Carol Marie Bressler was born on March 7, 1932 in Monroe the daughter of Roy and Rose (Pfluge) Bressler.   On September 8, 1949, Carol, would marry the love of her life: Keith Bausman in Steuben, Indiana.   The happy couple would be blessed with eight children.

As a devout Catholic, Carol would receive her spiritual nourishment attending St. Anne Catholic Church.  She was a staple, often working the BINGO nights at the church hall.

Carol was a gifted seamstress, enthusiastically creating wedding dresses for her daughters and First Holy Communion dresses for her granddaughters.

Bowling was a favorite pastime of Carol’s.   For many years, she participated in league play at the Monroe Sports Center, and she had even tried her hand at coaching a junior bowling team.  Carol cherished the time that she would spend playing a spirited game of euchre, pinochle, or poker with her friends. However, on occasion, she didn’t mind a solo game of solitaire or putting together puzzles.

Carol treasured trips with family to their cottage on Nevin Lake in the Upper Peninsula.   The fourth of July holiday was an annual gathering of the entire family.   Although, Carol would assign responsibilities to others, it was obvious that she gladly completed ninety percent of the work herself.   All in attendance looked forward to her freshly prepared, crowd-pleasing pecan rolls a favorite delicatessen.
