Obituary of Pamela Jean Buckingham

Pamela Jean Buckingham was born on May 22, 1962 in Saline, Michigan. She was one of four children born from the union of the late Gerald Buckingham and the late Carole (Loader) Buckingham. She attended Dundee High School.

 

For over ten years, Pam would work as a cosmetologist for Fantastic Sams but was a life-long practitioner. She loved doing hair and was known for her great talent at it. 

 

Pam was most in her element when she was outside. She loved any chance to be found on the back of a Harley Davidson with the wind blowing through her flowing locks. Camping was also on her list of favorite activities. She enjoyed all that nature had to offer in our beautiful world, often staring into the immense canvas of the sky, and regularly shared about the images she would see within the clouds.  

 

More than anything, Pam loved her family. She enjoyed attending family gatherings. Holiday events meant sharing a meal as Pam would attempt to make a different dish from one of her mother’s recipes for her grandchildren to enjoy. Nan, as the grandchildren affectionately called her, treasured playing card games, Yahtzee, or dice with them. She would often be seen engaging with the children on the floor, playing as they did. Nan also was known to challenge the grandkids in a game or two of Foosball. Euchre was her most favorite and loved to play cards with friends as well.

 

Pam enjoyed all genres of music, although she frequently enjoyed listening to older rock and roll and the likes of Queen, CCR and Prince. She made sure to keep in touch with what was current and popular in order to share tunes with her grandchildren, Isabelle and Noah. 

 

Pamela Jean Buckingham, age 58, of Dundee passed away at ProMedica Toledo Hospital, on Monday; February 15, 2021. She had been in declining health. Her passing was preceded by both of her parents. 

 

To cherish her memory, she leaves a daughter: Terra (Daniel) Lentz; a sister: Kimberlee Buckingham; two brothers: Jeffrey (Jennifer) Buckingham, Jason (Charlotte) Buckingham; and five grandchildren: Noah, Isabelle, Gabrielle, Brody and Kullen.

 

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and Pamela’s wishes to keep services simple, they will be private.   A public memorial service is being considered for the future. Merkle Funeral Service, Dundee; 297 Tecumseh Street, Dundee, Michigan 48131 (734) 529-3156 has been entrusted with her care.
