Lillie Bramlett

Obituary of Lillie Mae Bramlett

Lillie Mae Fisher was born January 26, 1929 in Carbondale, Illinois. She was one of ten children born from the late John Fisher and the late Geneva (Austin) Fisher. She received her education through Monroe High School and graduated with the class of 1947. To support her growing family, she worked as a candy striper at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids and at a department store, Stickney’s. She also worked for many years as an assembler at Ford Motor Company until retiring in 1995.

Lillie was a member at Second Missionary Baptist Church in Monroe. She stayed active in her church by attending Bible Study every Wednesday, serving on the Mother’s Board and was a Sunday School teacher.  In her spare time, she enjoyed reading books, especially her bible and completing crossword puzzles. She was a seasoned shopper and always was a professional at finding the best bargains.

Her outgoing personality shown through when she was with ones she loved, yet she had a reserved personality and had no problem telling you how she sees it. Her family meant the most to her and she enjoyed time spent with them. Her kind and loving nature are just a few things that will be missed by those closest to her.
