Lonnie Thompson

Obituary of Lonnie Ray Thompson

Lonnie Ray Thompson was born on September 23, 1964 in Monroe, Michigan. He was one of seven children born from the union of his parents: Quincy Thompson and the late Dorothy Mae (Anders) Thompson.

Lonnie worked hard as a mechanic at a company owned by his brother. His favorite things to do was take trips down south to visit his extended family members, and always felt a sense of home in their presence. Lonnie loved his animals and truly adored his four-legged companions. He was naturally compassionate and charismatic, and always giving to those in need. He would never shy away from showing off his generous nature.

In his spare time, he enjoyed tending to his garden. He was an absolute master of the grill and shared his cooking with friends and family. Lonnie had an ear for music, listening, singing and dancing along to his favorite country and gospel tunes. Lonnie was loved by his family and friends and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Lonnie Ray Thompson, age 53 of Monroe, passed away at 8:15am on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at ProMedica Monroe Regional Hospital in Toledo, Ohio. In addition to his mothers passing, he is preceded in death by his beloved dog: Patches.
