James Chevrette

Obituary of James William Chevrette

James William Chevrette was born on June 20, 1948 in Escanaba, Michigan. He was one of three children born from the union of his parents: the late Russell Joseph Chevrette and the late Anna Mae (Fitzgerald) Chevrette. He enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged. James worked to support his family as an independent contractor for Monroe County Drain and Road commission for many years. He was always very dedicated to his work and his family.

He enjoyed watching sports including his favorites: baseball, basketball and football, but especially liked watching his grandchildren play, as he was always involved with what they were doing. He bought his only granddaughter a pony and loved to watch her ride. Always wanting his family to be the best at everything, he was always willing to give them advice and constructive criticism.

James was very stubborn, and it was always his way or no way. He was very determined with everything that he did and expected the same from those closest to him. Most importantly, James was a great father to his children and the best grandfather to his grandchildren and he will be missed dearly.

James William Chevrette, age 69, of Temperance, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ypsilanti. His passing is preceded by his daughter: Jaclyn Chevrette; his brother: Charles Chevrette and his parents: Russell and Anna Mae Chevrette.
