Susan Williams

Obituary of Susan Kay Williams

Susan Kay Hubbell was born on May 23, 1961 in Toledo, Ohio. She was one of twelve children born from the union of the late Howard Hubbell and Doris (Aharendt) Hubbell.

Susan met the love of her life, Charles Williams, and they were joined in marriage on May 25, 2001 in Toledo.   Blending their families together they shared seventeen wonderful years.   Susan proudly looked after the needs of her family as a homemaker.   She loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally and she was especially fond of her nieces and nephews.

Susan kept busy in her garden especially tending to her grapevines.   Her favorite hobby was that of making homemade wine; which of course she was willing to share with those she loved.   Susan had a huge heart of gold.   She often opened her home to family and friends.   The sound of laughter and conversation were the parts of life that meant the most to her.    Susan loved to have a good time and often enjoyed dancing to her favorite music.   A huge animal lover, she often opened her home to four legged companions and always treated them like family.

Susan Kay Williams, age 56 of Monroe, passed away at 8:23pm on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. In addition to her father, her passing is preceded in death by two brothers: Edward Hubbell and Howard Hubbell Jr; and a great nephew: Dominick Hubbell.

To cherish her memory, Susan leaves her beloved husband of nearly seventeen years: Charles Williams of Monroe; three daughters:  Carrie Lynn Williams of North Carolina, Carlie Nilsa Ashlock of Texas, and Carrie “Petie” Nadine Ashlock of Allen Park; four brothers: Larry Hubbell of Harrison, Charles (Barb) Hubbell of Cadillac, Richard Hubbell of Toledo, James Hubbell of Harrison; her five sisters: Linda (David) Ashman of Montpelier, Ohio, Janet (John) Yarder of Traverse City, Sharon Hubbell of Traverse City, Diane Moses of Toledo, and Peggy Hubbell of Cadillac; ten grandchildren; and fifty-nine nieces and nephews.
