Obituary of Edward Thomas St. Bernard

Edward Thomas St. Bernard was born in Monroe, Michigan on January 26, 1943.   He was one of three children born from the union of the late Raymond J. St. Bernard and the late Mildred M. (Betzner) St. Bernard.   He attended Monroe High School graduating with the Class of 1961.   Ed then enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country honorably until his discharge in 1965.

He married the former Joyce Held at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church on January 28, 1972.   From this union came the birth of two daughters:  Kari and Erin.

Edward was a hard worker and provided for the needs of his family with employment at Reckitt-Benckiser in Rockwood.  He would serve in Supervision as a Group Leader for many years.   Ed retired in 2003 after thirty years of dedicated service.

More than anything, Ed cherished his family.   A man of strong faith.   He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for many years.

He loved the sunshine and the outdoors.   Ed often spent time gardening, bird-watching, and going for drives by the water.   When the girls were younger they often visited the playground and local parks.   The family also enjoyed biking and camping excursions.

Ed had several favorite pastimes including making homemade wine, collecting bottle openers, and woodworking.
