Obituary of Dolores Mae Duvall

Dolores Mae Duvall was born Michigan on September 9, 1929 in Monroe. She was one of three sisters born from the union of the late, Leo Padot and Mary F. (Masson) Padot. Dolores was a 1948 graduate of St. Mary Academy and married the love of her life, Leonard L. Duvall on October 18, 1952 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Monroe. From this union would come the birth of four beautiful children. Dolores helped support her family over the years employed as a telephone operator at Michigan Bell, a bus driver for Mason Consolidation Schools and St. Joseph Catholic School. She was also a receptionist at the Monroe Senior Citizens Center. Dolores was outgoing and enjoyed traveling with her husband to Florida, Texas and Hawaii. Together they were Cub Scout Den Leaders for several years. Friends and family were drawn to her pleasant demeanor. She cherished time spent with her family especially her grandchildren and great- grandchildren. As an excellent cook, her infamous spaghetti will be missed by many. In her quiet time, Dolores could be found doing jigsaw puzzles. Dolores Mae Duvall, age 87, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. In addition to her parents and her husband of thirty-two years, Leonard L. Duvall her passing was preceded by two sisters: Helen Hoody and Marlene Giarmo; and a brother-in-law Bill Giarmo To cherish her memory, she leaves four children; David (Patty) Duvall of Erie, Patrick (Kathy) Duvall of Roanoke, Texas, Cindy (Sue Lawrence) Duvall of Gates, North Carolina, and Jan (Phil) Simmons of Toledo; six grandchildren: Lyndy (Christopher) Zaleski, Mark (Kristy) Duvall, Eddie Long , Chris LeMage (Jessie), Kevin LeMage, and Kevin Choby;six great grandchildren: Ronan, Kaylee, Cameron, Tony, Ashly, Shelby; three great-great grandchildren: Maci, Aubrey, and Allison; a brother-in-law: Fred Hoody;and many nieces and nephews. Friends may gather at 2:00pm until a prayer service beginning at 6:00pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Merkle Funeral Service, Erie; 9156 Summit Street (734)848-5185. Dolores will lie in state on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 from 12:00pm until a Mass of the Resurrection beginning at 1:00pm at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2214 Manhattan Street, Erie, with Father David Cybulski officiating. Procession will follow to St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Erie Volunteer Fire Department.
