Obituary of Mark Mallinger

Mark J. Mallinger July 4, 1955-August 3, 2007 Mark Joseph Mallinger, age 52 died at 10:47pm, Friday, August 3, 2007 in his home. He had been in declining health for many years. Friends may gather from 2-8pm, Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at the Merkle Funeral Home, 2442 North Monroe Street; Frenchtown Township. If you wish to support the Mallinger family call (734) 384-5185 . A memorial service celebrating Mark's life will take place at 2:00pm, Wednesday at the funeral home with Christopher George officiating. Cremation has taken place with Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle. Mark was born July 4, 1955 in Windsor, Ontario the son of John and Lorraine (Beneteau) Mallinger. He married Evlynne Azrikan on September 12, 1975 in Florida. For many years Mark worked for the Monroe County Road Commission in Grounds Maintenance. He took a medical retirement in 1994. He especially enjoyed music and playing his guitar. He was a local member of Alcoholics' and Narcotics' Anonymous. Mark also loved his Cadillac with a Northstar Engine—he washed it everyday. Mark completed heating and air conditioning technician training through RETS Technical School in Toledo. He is survived by his wife: Evlynne; a son John (Sandy) Mallinger of Monroe; a daughter: Mellissa and her fiancé Jacob Ziegler of Toledo; five brothers: John "Paul", of Flat Rock, Gary of Deerfield Beach, Florida, Ronald (Karola) of Brownstown, David (Kim) of Redford, Jim (Marie) of Pickney; and three grandchildren: Elizabeth, Michaela, and Joseph Mallinger. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations be made to their wishes.
