Obituary of Leslie Gene Eagle
Leslie “Gene” Eagle was born on June 10, 1945, in Dearborn, Michigan. He was one of six children born to the union of Gordon Dean Eagle and Manitee Genevieve (Spragg) Eagle. He attended Melvindale High School in Allen Park, Michigan, graduating with the class of 1963.
Gene was a hard worker and a wonderful provider for his family. Over the years, he has served in several different management positions with various companies. Before being employed in management at McLouth Steel in Trenton for thirty years, he worked seven years at the railroad. He then took a management position at Monsanto - Solutia, Inc in Trenton for an additional nineteen years before finally retiring in 2014.
On June 29, 1979, Gene married the love of his life, the former Lynn Spas and together the couple had one daughter. Gene was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Flat Rock, Michigan and the Quarter Century Club through Solutia. He loved the outdoors, whether he was on his boat fishing in Lake Erie or duck and geese hunting with his grandson, Austin. He was a huge Detroit Red Wing and NASCAR fan. He loved playing hockey, woodworking and making things with his own hands and riding his Harley.
Gene was a kindhearted soul. A family man, he truly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren who called him “Papa” and his nieces and nephews.
