Karen Ann Mary Navarre was born on January 20, 1949 in Monroe, Michigan. She was one of two beautiful daughters born to the union of Marvin and Violet (Bushroe) Navarre.  Karen attended Jefferson High School in Monroe and later achieved her GED from Monroe County Community College.

For more than twenty years, Karen worked as a gas station clerk for Meijer in Monroe.   She retired in 2016.

Karen had many varied interests.   She loved watching television especially the ION channel and was a self-proclaimed “horror movie junkie” never missing a chance to catch a good gory flick.  She also enjoyed reading Stephen King and Dean Koontz novels.

Karen enjoyed knitting and crocheting.   She was a fabulous cook making everything she tried to perfection.   She liked to spend time lounging at the pool, and swimming on a hot summer day.

Karen was pleased to share her home with her Dachshund:  Cleo and her cat:  Doris.   She often dressed Cleo in baby clothes, before taking her for walks in a baby stroller.   In addition, Karen cherished the time she spent with her sister:  Janice and niece:  Jaime.  Throughout the years, the trio had fun and shared many laughs on their shopping excursions.

Karen Ann Mary Pletz, age 73 of Monroe passed away on Saturday; December 3, 2022 in her home under the care of ProMedica Monroe Hospice.   Her passing was preceded by her parents:  Marvin and Violet Navarre and a son:  Steven Pletz.
