Barbara Ann Robison was born on March 4, 1932, in Toledo, Ohio. She was the daughter of Allie Robison and Marie “Girly” (Reihing) Robison. She moved to Erie, Michigan and had lived in the same home since 1962. After receiving her GED from Mason High School, Barb would become gainfully employed by the Mason Consolidated School System as a custodian.
Barb was a talented seamstress and quite skilled with her hands. She often assisted various family members by giving clothing items a second life with her ability to mend them. She attended many crafting shows, to display her many handmade pillows, quilts, towels, and potholders. She also lovingly made meaningful memorial gifts, from clothing, for her family and close friends to treasure.
Barb was a proud member of TOPS (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly). The local group met each Thursday for their group weigh in and stats. Afterwards, they shared a celebratory meal at a local restaurant to enjoy their new accomplishments. In fact, she was once crowned the national winner for the most weight lost.
Her humor was one of a kind and her jokes were epic, especially the one about her “rabbit tattoo”. Above anything, Barb treasured the time she spent with family. Annually, she looked forward to the third Saturday in July when they would gather at the South Erie Park for their family reunion. This year’s event was held just a week before her passing and her loved ones are extremely grateful to have had Barb in attendance.
