Nancy Schwartz

Obituary of Nancy Marie Schwartz

Nancy Marie Schwartz was born in Erie, Michigan on January 23, 1939.   She was the daughter of the late Clarence R. Schwartz and the late Clara C. (Brueshaber) Schwartz.   Nancy attended St. Mary Academy.

She was employed ten years at Doehler-Jarvis in Toledo.   Here she would be the first female die cast operator, an accomplishment she was quite proud of.   Nancy was gifted with a green thumb, and she spent several years working at a greenhouse and gardening.

She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Erie for more than fifty years.   Nancy loved to be involved with church social functions enjoying the time she spent at the annual festival and especially liked the St. Joseph chicken dinners.   She often visited flea markets and yard sales looking for timeless treasures.

Nancy was extremely outgoing and very social.   Her pleasant manner and yet unique personality often allowed her to be the head of any conversation.   She was always fun to be around, and since it usually was her way or no way at all, she had the ability to convince others of anything.   Nancy enjoyed scheduling family outings, and she happily became the chaperone, picking everyone up for their event.    Her favorites gatherings were those that involved nieces and nephews.   Playing cards and bingo were favorite pastimes as well as hanging with friends at the LaGrange Street Senior Citizen’s Club.

She enjoyed bingo, Nancy Marie Schwartz age 78 of Erie passed away at 10:55pm, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo.   In addition to her parents her passing was preceded by two brothers:  Norman and James Schwartz, a sister:  Clara C.
