Obituary of Anna Rose Laderach

Anna Rose Velker was born in Toledo on October 2, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Stanley W. Velker and the late Louise P. (Kesting) Velker. She graduated from the Notre Dame Academy where she had excelled in academics, art, and sports; including playing on the basketball team. She married the love of her life, John A. Laderach on January 20, 1940 in Angola, Indiana. From this union the couple would share in the birth of eight children. John and Anna, along with their children, were some of the first year round residents of the City of Luna Pier, where they were very active in the City. She was extremely loving, caring, and well-respected by those around her. She could be counted on for good, sound advice or just to listen. She enjoyed family get-togethers and cooking for all of her guests. She enjoyed the outdoors and everything about nature living or growing on God’s green earth. Anna loved to travel. She had been on many cross continent jaunts with family and had especially cherished a trip, to Alaska with daughter, Ruth and granddaughter, Cindy tent camping all the way there and back at the young age of 74. Anna had also visited Switzerland and Germany with her husband and Hawaii with her daughter, Ruth. Countless hours were enjoyed at the family cabin Up North on East Lake. Anna was blessed with a plethora of grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with them or “babysit”. She had enjoyed bowling for years and her daily soaps. She believed in one beer a day, wasn’t afraid of having cheese and popcorn for dinner. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Erie.
